THE TOWERS I saw the world close down today Right before my eyes The eagle of this mighty land Flies under darkened skies The pentagon is covered With a cloud of smoke and gray Americas' majestic flag Is masked in shades of gray
Explosions quake the earth below
While fire strikes the sky
Blacken clouds tornado through
Several now have died
Glass and dust resemble rain
Towers fall as toys
A day I thought would never come
Transpires a fateful course
The death count is too numerous
And cannot yet be done
The government that stands so strong
On street corners call to God
The cries are heard across the land
Each citizen must pray
America, My glorious land
Stands on ALERT today
America, lets not forget
That freedom has a price
It wasn't purchased easily
Each person has to fight
So though we sorrow greatly
And hearts are in dismay
Each piece we'll cherish gently
As we gather them today Gather them be sure we will Rebuilding every stone Together we have formed this land We will not let it fall Strength within the battle The flag will not be hid Once again we proudly say In God we trust, again.
